About the Vintage:
The winter of 2023 was rainy and well-balanced, allowing thorough soil saturation in the Judean Hills vineyards and setting a strong start to the growing season. The cool spring brought a slightly later-than-average budbreak and a harmonious vegetative development. In some vineyards, naturally loose clusters formed, resulting in relatively low yields but highly concentrated and powerful fruit.
The summer unfolded gradually, with the cool nights in the hills helping to preserve good acidity and aromatic expression. In the vineyards of Givat Yeshayahu, planted along the valley channels, these conditions allowed for balanced ripening while preserving the fruit’s vibrant character. In the terraced vineyard at Even Sapir, at an elevation of about 650 meters above sea level, the cool nights and well-drained terra rossa and limestone soils yielded grapes of concentration, depth, and color.
The combination resulted in wines with deep color, ripe tannins, and concentrated dark fruit notes.
Production Process:
The wine was aged in new and one-year-old French Oak barrels for a period of 16 months.
Tasting Notes:
Opulent nose of red fruit and spice of clove and light toasting, with dominant fresh fruit and elegant spice on the palate, alongside velvety tannins, and a long, complex finish
